The vaulted ceiling trips over,
trips over to skim through,
Skim through all the kinships,
Kinships that knit their souls together.
Scrimmages and ruffles did howl,
Howled for long in total falsehood,
O Lord, save some mercy,
Give them the piece of your mind.
Did they not adore this chandelier?
Didn’t they fall for each other’s fidelity?
Proclaiming their bond across borders.
Didn’t they stumble?
Stumbled upon one quest?
As to how much it’s gonna cost?
How long will it take for a change?
For a change that’ll dictate their lives after.
It’s been 7 years 4 months and a dozen days.
They’ve never even repaid a visit.
A visit to this vaulted ceiling.
Where they put this chandelier as a testament,
A testament of how strong they were,
Enough to cross eternity.
O Lord have some mercy!
You know this language or do you?
Once a child asked,” How kings chose their queens?
“Through power and sacrifice”, answered the Saint.
Well, is that true now?
Does a bond so unbreakable and credulous have such a frenetic future?
Ain’t it unfair for all those brewing knots?
Is that why it’s called tying a knot?
“Yeah we proclaim our fidelity all across”
Till death do us apart.
But can it sustain? Does it sustain?
“Power and sacrifice”..well,
“love” …that’s what takes them over.
Only fact amazes here,
All insecurities faded back then,
They were all sharing memories,
Looked into each other in reverie,
A jolt would shake them if anyone got a scrub.
And now?
Combats till “it” gets cremated.
Now do they still adore this ceiling, Or are they still vexing over it.
All I want is,
The ceiling may live thousand years,
Driving through all these brittle knots,
Knots claimed to be a stallion to blunders.
This vaulted ceiling may overhaul.
O lord have some mercy!
An effort to sue up your mind with a musing. We don’t often realise how things get all mixed up in the grinder and the key moments including relationships get affected. Severe enough to cause a break….
