An outbreak yeah so maimed,
That initially we didn’t listen,
A terror so real, a desire to be untamed.
That turned our heads on a mission.
Reeking a carnage all over,
We drove off for homes,
Covered in a cloth breathing sober,
We risked a final trail or a roam!
Markets collapsing into a deadspin,
Holding our coughs we headed North,
Swaying,hovering into this lifeless ruin,
Dread laid over by an irking earth.
Empathy, justice and equality on a run,
Eating away the promises we stayed,
The duty, the stakes left undone,
Zipped in warmth we prayed.
As the times worsen,
And the footprints lessen,
Headed for a doom all awakened,
Let’s tether our earth so broken.
Homes and lives at stake,
Still holding up a mere sneeze,
Bloodstream freezing out one couldn’t fake,
Just a scrub, a wash, a caution at ease.
Now as I cuddle up and stare,
This celing wails in longing,
Quarantined history we living,we dare
Let’s pray, learn and keep striving.
An effort with a poem on the unusual times we’re going through these days…hope you are safe and sound. Read and take care..
Thank you
