An ardent fan of RCB would know that a win tastes sweet as ever for they have had their share of misfortunes every single year…
Reminiscing that match back in 2015 when RCB were taking on KKR,it was another nervy one for me(it has been the case since the inception of IPL and RCB).
But that day at the iconic Eden Gardens,RCB looked on the money while KKR fans looked down in the dumps.The crowd was so passionate that each run by RCB was like salt on the wound.Everyone looked weary and out of colour.
Suddenly a guy the crowd stood and called up for a mexican wave.And as enthusiastic he was,the Golden crowd denied him which was very much understood.But he kept his nerve and held on to his confidence.Despite the ignorance ,he was up and about his cheers.His frantic efforts of persuading the crowd looked in vain when suddenly another one in the stands stood up and sent a gesture to the crowd for more support.No wonder he was relieved.
Yes it happened..
The second guy was enough to fuel it up.Although not everyone participated,it was a mesmerizing gesture by the Golden army in support.
Eventuality RCB won the game,but the Kolkata crowd showed the zeal they carry in their hearts for cricket.Meanwhile it was a reassurance for RCB that they were alive in the tournament(infact a huge one for us).Seeing them falling short isn’t a vague affair after all.
But..
What about that guy who,being a KKR fan, managed to fuel up the whole crowd for that mexican wave.This sheer fact got me to write this one.
Unfazed by seeing RCB cruising over,he held himself up.Knowing it was a shot in the dark,he eventually saw his golden wave traverse in a circle throughout the stadium.
Not a philosophy session at all…
P.S-the wave up there in the pic is not the Golden army from the match.
